About The Restlass Traveler

Before you get stuck in to the nitty-gritty of a wonderful (ah- hem!) blog, I just wanted to take a moment to let you who I am. You may find it the most interesting read of your life or you my find it the perfect read for when you’re in bed trying to get to sleep. I’m doing this blog so that friends and family at home have a better idea of where I’ve been and what I’ve been up to.

I am a Yorkshire lass with a not so Yorkshire accent currently living in Adelaide South Australia. I am a creative person and studied art and design, following this with a course in musical theater. On the career front I have been in the entertainment industry for around ten years doing everything from singer, dancer, stage presenter, game show host, general host/compare, TV presenter, entertainment manager and skin character to name a few roles. I have also been a waitress, bar staff, retail assistant, call center operative, mortgage adviser and my favorite, none entertainment job….professional beer pourer (amazing!)

My father inspired me travel travel. When I was growing up he was always hop skipping it to France on business and over the years headed the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and USA. In my teens I thought to myself ‘what a great life’. When asked by a career adviser at school what I wanted to be when I grew up I said ‘a famous singer and travel the world’. The famous hasn’t come true however I am very happy, have a wonderful family, great friends and a gorgeous fiancé who also shares my love for travel.….One more paragraph to go…..

I have been very lucky to combine my love of travel and work opportunities. I have been living, working and travelling abroad for over 10 years with my first trip to North America when I was 21, spending months travelling around. I then worked on cruise ships regularly visiting stunning cities, countries and locations. Then I became and entertainment manager living and working in Portugal and Tenerife to name a couple.  Now we have been in Australia since February 2014, traveled a little of Asia at the start of the year and currently planning New Zealand, more of Asia and a wedding in Croatia. Who knows what’s next? South America, Eastern Europe, Somewhere with a colder climate? The choices are endless.
